His Excellency Sir Anthony Bailey, KGCN, GCNG, OBE, GCSS, is a senior diplomatic adviser and public affairs practitioner who since 1988 has advised over sixty-six nations across the world including many at Head of State and Head of Government level. He has served in high diplomatic positions such as as Special Envoy and Ambassador-at-Large for both European and Caribbean nations. He advises several international companies on international strategy and business development.
In the cultural field Anthony serves as Executive Chairman of Painting & Patronage – a cultural and artistic exchange programme between Europe and the Middle East, and is Director of the Waterford Museum of Treasures in Ireland. Anthony is active in education field having served on the board of United Learning and has been a member of several educational bodies, two UK Ministerial Task Forces for Education.
Sir Anthony Bailey is a renowned interfaith campaigner for numerous charitable and religious bodies and is the Magistral Delegate for Inter-Religious Relations and the Delegate for Great Britain and Ireland and the Caribbean of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George. He is Governor of the Archdiocese of Westminster and Governor of St Mary’s University in Twickenham.
Sir Anthony Bailey is actively engaged in charitable and cultural initiatives in the Caribbean for many years and currently leads a multi-million pound charitable engagement in St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and St Lucia which include the restoration of three cathedrals in Castries, Roseau and St John’s, building a school, an old people’s home, a youth centre and community outreach centre. In 2014 Bailey was additionally appointed by the Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda as a member of Antigua and Barbuda’s Government House Restoration Committee and in 2015 was appointed by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda as the Special Economic Envoy of Antigua and Barbuda in Europe. He is also an Adviser the Government of St Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis.
In 2015 Bailey was also appointed by the Governor General of Grenada to the Government House Restoration Committee which works to rebuild and restore the official residence of the Head of State which much like 90% of the country’s infrastructure was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
Bailey is a known supporter of Britain’s membership of the European Union and the Commonwealth.
Anthony has been recognised by many governments across the world for his professional, diplomatic, charity and inter-religious work including the United Kingdom, Dominica, Holy See, Grenada, Portugal, Hungary, Lebanon, Jordan, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Costa Rica and Antigua & Barbuda.
