Mr Anthony Bailey, OBE, GCSS, was guest speaker at the annual banquet of The Society of Young Freemen of the City of London. It was held at the historic Charterhouse in London EC1 on 29 May 2014. The theme of address was the international perspective of the City of London and his own international activities.

Founded in 1976 by the City of London Corporation the Society aims to encourage the wider participation of young Freemen and Liverymen in the affairs and traditions of the City. It plays an important part in promoting the Livery and the wider City to generations of young Freemen, many of which have gone on to become Masters, Clerks, Elected Members and even Lord Mayor.

The Patron of the Society is the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the current Honorary President of the Society is past Lord Mayor Sir David Wootton. The Master is Mr Laurence Nicolas. Over 100 personalities from across the City of London attended, including past Lord Mayors Sir David Wootton, Sir Michael Oliver, Sir Clive Martin and Sir Brian Jenkins as well as several ambassadors.
