St John’s, November 2014. His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, KGN, GCMG, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda has appointed His Excellency Anthony Bailey, OBE, GCSS, as a Member of the Government House Restoration Committee of Antigua and Barbuda.

His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, KGN, GCMG, Governor General of Antigua and BarbudaThe Governor General in his letter of appointment said: “We look forward to your continued commitment and service as we work together to make significant strides in the active movement to restore and maintain our precious cultural heritage for our present and future generations. Your willingness to serve your country in this area of need is acknowledged and applauded.” Sir Rodney concluded. The appointment took effect on 20 October 2014 for a two year period, and is renewable.

The Government House Restoration Committee oversees the specific cultural heritage of the buildings and grounds, referred to as the Government House. The Committee functions as an advisory, planning and implementation body and represents a cross section of the views of the community. Government House is the official residence of the Governor General who is the official representative of HM Queen Elizabeth II in her right as Queen of Antigua and Barbuda.
