Anthony Bailey has a keen interest in education issues and holds several roles in both the secondary and higher education sector in Britain.

In 2014 Anthony was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by The College of Teachers at the Institute of Education of the University of London for his contribution to education nationally and internationally.

Between 2002-2010 he advised the Department of Education on the development of the British Government’s Academies programme. Anthony previously served as a member of the Ministerial Task Force for Gifted and Talented Education and the London Challenge Ministerial Task Force.

Between 2009-2016 Anthony served as a Governor and member of the Governing Body of St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Between 2011-2013 he was a Trustee of the London Oratory School Schola Foundation, and from 2006-2010 he was a member of the Governing Bodies of the Sheffield Springs Academy and the Sheffield Park Academy in Yorkshire.

Between 2005-2013 he was a Board Director of the United Learning Trust – a leading charitable Church of England educational body founded in 1883 which runs the largest number of Academy schools in Britain.

In July 2005 Anthony was appointed by the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster as a Foundation Governor in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster, and as a member of the Governing Body of The Douay Martyrs School in Ickenham, Middlesex, UK. He was reappointed to these roles in 2010.
