London, March 2012. Mr Anthony Bailey has been appointed Co-Chairman
to the Portrait of Our Queen Diamond Jubilee Competition.

Portrait of Our Queen is a nationwide competition, open to all school
children in the United Kingdom, which celebrates Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. Every school in Britain is invited to
take part and ask their pupils to paint or draw a portrait of The
Queen. A panel of judges will determine the finalists. In the autumn of 2012,
there will be an exhibition of the finalists’ work in London and
prizes will be awarded. There will also be a People’s Choice Award.

The competition’s aim is to encourage children to unleash their
imagination and make a lasting contribution to their nation’s cultural
history.

Mr Bailey’s fellow Co-Chairman are Councillor Clare Head, Mayor of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Alexa Jago and
Charlotte Metcalf.

The judges for the competition include Desmond Shawe-Taylor, Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures–The Royal Collection, Nicky Philipps, Royal Portrait artist, Jenny Caron Hall, Portrait Painter, artist Francis Hamel and actor Hugo Taylor.
