London, December 2014. Anthony Bailey Consulting organised elements of the visit of the Albanian Head of State, HE Mr Bujar Nishani and the First Lady, Odeta Nishani to the United Kingdom in December 2014.

An official meeting between the President and HRH The Prince of Wales was held in Clarence House on 8 December 2014. The same evening, HE Mr Bujar Nishani and First Lady Odeta Nishani were the Guests of Honour at the Annual Banquet of the Guild of Freemen of the City of London. In attendance were over 700 guests including many key figures from the Corporation of the City of London including the Lord Mayor Locum Tenens, HE the Governor General of Antigua & Barbuda, TRH Crown Princess Margarita and Prince Radu of Romania and the diplomatic corps accredited to the United Kingdom.

The President delivered a keynote address in which he expressed his great pleasure of being London and also thanked Anthony Bailey. “I would like to express my thanks to the Master and Court of the Guild of Freemen of the City of London for the very kind invitation to be present here tonight in this historic Guildhall. I would also like to especially thank Court Assistant [ ] Anthony Bailey, a good and longstanding friend of Albania and who first brought to my attention the important work that your Guild undertakes across this ancient city. I am particularly pleased to represent my country, Albania, and my people, in the heart of the world’s leading global financial centre and in the presence of the Lord Mayor and his party.”

On 9 December 2014, President Nishani was a guest of honour at a breakfast at the House of Lords at the invitation of Rt Hon Lord Alan Watson of Richmond, CBE. The Head of State spoke at the occasion to the participants on regional cooperation, the role of Albania in the region and the efforts of all Albanian institutions to open accession negotiations with the European Union.

Later in the day, His Excellency visited and laid a wreath at the bust of the Albanian National Hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu. HE Mr Mal Berisha, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania and HE Lirim Greiçevci, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo were also present.
