London, November 2012. Winners were announced at the Philip Mould’s art gallery for the nationwide competition which had invited children aged 4 to 18 to depict the Queen in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee. Mr Anthony Bailey OBE, Councillor Clare Head, Film producer and actress Alexa Jago and award winning documentary film maker Charlotte Metclaf were the competition’s founders and chairmen.

30,000 children took part in the competition and the aim was to encourage them away from screens and electronic devices and back to the traditional skills required by using paper, pencils and paint. As a prize, organised and donated by John Hall Venice, the renowned gap year course, the 28 winners will be going on a tour of London’s top portrait galleries in the spring.
